Non-Member Check Cashing Sample Clauses

The Non-Member Check Cashing clause defines the terms under which a financial institution will cash checks for individuals who do not hold accounts with the institution. Typically, this clause outlines any identification requirements, applicable fees, and limitations on the types or amounts of checks that can be cashed by non-members. Its core practical function is to set clear expectations and procedures for non-members seeking check cashing services, thereby managing risk and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Payees may deposit the checks that you give them into their own account(s) with us in order to receive payment without a fee.

Temporary Holds and Authorizations for Amounts in Excess of Transactions: To facilitate certain transactions you make we may place temporary holds on funds in your accounts. The Credit Union can neither control the parties with whom you do business nor regulate the processing of transactions through the commercial networks used to facilitate your transactions. Therefore, it is your obligation to insure that sufficient funds are on deposit at all times to cover the transactions you make – including the amount that may be subject to these holds. Pursuant to the processing networks rules a merchant (hotel, car rental company, retailer, etc.) may obtain authorization for up to 3 times the total estimated amount of your actual hotel stay, car rental or purchase. Non-Member Check Cashing. If you issue a check drawn on your checking account and a non- member of Advia Credit Union seeks to cash the check, you agree that we may require the non-member to provide appropriate physical and/or documentary identification as a condition of cashing the check. You also agree that we may refuse to cash a check, even if it is properly payable and proper identification is provided, and such refusal shall not constitute wrongful dishonor of your check. Further, you agree we have the right to charge the non-member, as a condition of cashing the check, a nonmember check cashing fee. This fee, which is reflected in our current Service Charges, helps us cover the additional costs and risks involved in cashing a check for a non- member. You understand and agree that a non-member seeking to cash a check drawn on your account retains the ability to deposit the check with their own financial institution which would result in your check being presented to us through normal check processing channels.
