Non-Scheduled Overtime. When an off-duty employee is required to return to work without having received notice prior to leaving his/her last shift and a minimum of 14 hours prior to the start of the scheduled overtime it shall be considered as non-scheduled overtime. The employee shall be paid on an overtime basis (see Section (E) above) for a minimum of four (4) hours, which includes, one-half (1/2) hour for travel time. If the non-scheduled overtime worked exceeds four (4) hours (which includes the one, one-half (1/2) hour for travel time), he/she shall be paid for the time actually worked. An employee who works less than four (4) hours on the initial period of overtime and is then called back a second time during the initial four (4) hour period shall not be entitled to any additional overtime pay unless the aggregate time worked for both occurrences shall exceed four (4) hours, in which case he/she shall be paid for the aggregate time worked. In the event an employee is called back for a second time after the expiration of four (4) hours from the first call, he/she shall be paid for a minimum of four (4) hours for each occurrence, except as provided above. For example:
1. An employee who is called Saturday and works from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. is paid four (4) hours overtime.
2. The same employee who worked until 11:00 a.m. (1 above) is called back and works from noon until 3:30 p.m. is paid:

3. If the employee who works until 11:00 a.m. (1 above) is called back at 1:30 p.m. the same day, it is considered another four (4) hour overtime period, including the one-half hour paid travel time. However, in the event the period of non-scheduled overtime actually worked runs into an employee’s normal work shift, he/she shall be paid at the overtime rate only for the time actually worked outside of his/her regular shift hours; i.e., exclusive of travel time.
Non-Scheduled Overtime. If, through unforeseen circumstances, a shortfall in staffing occurs (i.e., unanticipated sick leave, etc.), with twenty-four (24) hours or less of the needed coverage, then the overtime list shall be utilized. When the overtime list is utilized the FF/SO with the lowest overtime hours shall be called first. This procedure will be followed until the next assignment is filled or the list is exhausted. Calls only need to be made until the assignment is fulfilled. If the list is exhausted, the Chief will use his or her discretion to fulfill the mission by holdover or order back. Call back messages shall not be left when calling an employee for unscheduled overtime (twenty-four (24) hours or less). Person to person contact must be made. There will be no distinction between FF/SO and Captain FF/SO in terms of overtime call back. The individual with the lowest overtime totals shall be called first, regardless of rank.
Non-Scheduled Overtime. Work which the Employer needs to schedule less than forty-eight (48) hours in advance.
Non-Scheduled Overtime. Non-scheduled overtime will be allocated based on the following:
(a) The classification in which the overtime is required.
(b) Employees in that classification who are presently at work and who have the required skills. If no one agrees to stay and work the overtime, the Employer has the right, based on classification and skill level, to assign this overtime.

a) at the time of the assignment of the job, the Supervisor was not aware of the need for overtime to complete the job or
b) the cause of the overtime work is a result of a non scheduled repair of equipment during non scheduled working hours requiring the call in of employees.
