Common use of Notice of Shift Change Clause in Contracts

Notice of Shift Change. The District has the right to change an employee's schedule (posted or otherwise) of working hours when shift work is required, provided that an employee is given at least forty-eight (48) hours' notice of such shift change. Where less than forty-eight (48) hours’ notice is provided for shift change, a premium of time and one-half (1.5) for all regular hours worked throughout the employee’s first day of work on the new shift will be paid. It is understood that 1.5 is a premium and is not considered overtime.
