Common use of On Promotion Clause in Contracts

On Promotion. 11.2.1 An employee who has been promoted shall serve a probationary period equivalent to that stipulated on initial employment for the class concerned. An employee who does not qualify in the probationary period shall revert to his former position at his former step in the salary range subject to any increments he would have received had he remained in the position. The provisions of Articles 21.6.2, 21.6.3 and 21.6.4 shall also apply. 11.2.2 An employee who is promoted during his initial probationary period shall have his initial probationary appointment terminated and commence the usual probationary period in the new position and, upon failure, his appointment shall be terminated. 11.2.3 A permanent employee who is on probation shall, upon promotion, complete the usual probationary period. If the employee fails during the probationary period, he shall revert back to the last position in which he has held permanent status.
