Common use of Online Instruction Clause in Contracts

Online Instruction. The college recognizes the growing importance of online instruction, including online teaching as well as any course that has online components. Faculty and staff have invested significant amounts of time to develop courses, online degrees, and certificates. 1. If there is need for a course to be created or modified to support a specific degree or certificate, the college may offer faculty a stipend or release time for development through the negotiated process for special assignments agreed upon in the NFA contract. 2. The Web College Department will work with faculty, Deans, and Directors in the development and support of online courses to include design, approaches to online learning as well as adherence to the Faculty Standards for Online Instruction as approved by Faculty Senate. 3. The Web College Department will ensure appropriate training for faculty teaching online is held each semester. 4. Online courses are subject to the same academic discipline standards and management as any course in a traditional classroom setting.
