Open Source Licensing Clause Samples

The Open Source Licensing clause defines the terms under which software or other intellectual property included in the agreement may be used, modified, and distributed according to open source principles. It typically specifies which open source licenses apply, such as MIT, GPL, or Apache, and outlines any obligations or restrictions these licenses impose on users, such as requirements to provide attribution or share modifications. This clause ensures that all parties understand their rights and responsibilities regarding open source components, thereby preventing legal disputes and promoting compliance with open source license terms.
