OVERTIME AND SHIFT PREMIUMS. 17.01 The Employer and the Union agree that normally, all overtime will be done on a voluntary basis. In the event that no volunteer is available, the employee with less seniority will work the overtime unless he has a major reason not to. In that case, the Employer requests the next employee with less seniority to work the overtime. 17.02 a) All employees shall be compensated for all overtime hours worked at the Employer’s request. They will be paid at one and one-half (1 ½) time their regular rate for the first four (4) hours in excess of regularly scheduled hours of work for that day and double time for the following hours. Furthermore, if an employee is called in to work overtime on his normal day off or immediately before or after his shift, he shall receive double time his rate of pay for all hours worked for a minimum of four (4) hours.

To align with 16.0l (a) where a work day is between 8am and 8pm. As long as the regular schedule is within this time period. 17.04 No employee shall be required to take time off because of overtime worked. 17.05 As per article 16.01, any hours worked before 8am or after 8pm, a shift premium will be paid to the employee of $2.00 per hour.

(a) Employees shall receive a premium of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for all seven (7) hour shifts commencing after 10:00 a.m. (b) Employees shall receive a premium of two dollars ($2.00) per hour for all hours worked on Saturday.

  • Shift Premiums (a) All employees who are required by the Employer to rotate over two (2) or more shifts shall receive a shift premium of thirty cents ($0.30) for each hour worked on the afternoon or evening shifts only. Shift premium will not be paid for any hour in which an employee receives overtime premium and shift premium will not form part of the employee's straight time hourly rate. (b) In no event shall there be any pyramiding of benefits or payments.

  • Night Shift Premium All hours worked by an employee between ten (10:00) p.m. and seven (7:00) a.m. shall be considered as shift work and paid for at the applicable straight time/overtime rate plus two ($2.00) dollars per hour shift premium for each full hour worked during this period. Night-shift premium shall not be added to the employee’s hourly rate of pay for the purpose of computing overtime pay.

  • Shift Premium Effective July 1, 2020, an employee shall be paid a shift premium of ninety-five cents (95c/ ) per hour for each hour worked between 1500 hours and 0700 hours provided that such hours exceed two (2) hours if worked in conjunction with the day shift.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.
