Overview of the Scope of Work. 1.1 We shall retain you to provide professional engineering service to the structural section of the Government or such other Government Department that may require your expertise and advice. Your advice is being relied upon by the Government in furtherance of its objective and you will be required to provide expertise, information and advice which may not be immediately apparent, e.g. redundancy in the service being requested. 1.2 You will be required to work under the direction of the Chief Engineer or designate to manage and undertake the planning, design and construction of engineering works for load bearing government infrastructure, including bridges, retaining walls, docks, wharfs, government buildings and any other structures identified under the contract. 1.3 You will be required to perform investigations and feasibility studies, prepare tender documents, create draft cabinet memorandum, and provide site supervision when needed. In addition, you will also be required to provide engineer advice to the Department of Planning for structural related applications and referrals. 1.4 You shall ensure compliance with Government’s Financial Instructions where applicable and the terms and conditions of all contracts, ensuring that functional requirements and performance are met.
