Pay During Temporary Transfers. It is hereby agreed and understood by both parties that employees shall temporarily do work outside their classifications when necessary at the discretion of the Company and will be for such time under the direction of the Supervisor of the Department in which they temporarily work. When an employee in these Departments temporarily substitutes in, or performs the principal duties of a higher paying classification for the lesser of four (4) hours or more or a half day or more, he/she shall receive the rate for the job. When an employee is assigned by the Company to a position paying a lower rate, his/her rate shall not be reduced until after sixty (60) consecutive working days. Where the transfer of an employee is made because of lack of work in his/her present classification or because the employee is temporarily unable to do his/her work, his/her rate shall be reduced after forty (40) hours.
