Payment of Additional Amounts Sample Clauses
The "Payment of Additional Amounts" clause requires one party, typically the payer, to compensate the payee for certain taxes or deductions that may be imposed by a government authority on payments made under the contract. In practice, this means that if withholding taxes or similar charges are levied on payments, the payer must increase the payment so that the payee receives the full amount originally agreed upon, net of any such deductions. This clause ensures that the payee is not disadvantaged by tax laws or regulations in different jurisdictions, thereby allocating the risk of tax-related deductions to the payer and maintaining the intended value of the contract for the payee.
