Performance of Remaining Work. The work remaining after a work 18 force reduction shall ordinarily be performed by currently employed 19 nurses until the Medical Center determines that recall shall be 20 initiated. Nurses on layoff subject to recall may request shifts through 21 the electronic scheduling program following the close of the period for 22 casual part-time nurses to select shifts. Should more than one nurse 23 then bid on a shift it shall be awarded to the most senior nurse on the 24 recall list who bid. Notwithstanding 12.3.5, nurses shall not be utilized 25 to perform work on a regularly scheduled basis that could be 26 performed by a nurse on layoff status who is qualified for and 27 interested in being recalled for such work.
