Common use of Permitted Uses Clause in Contracts

Permitted Uses. Associate shall not use Protected Information except for the purpose of performing Associate’s obligations under this Contract and as permitted under this Addendum. Further, Associate shall not use Protected Information in any manner that would constitute a violation of the HIPAA Rules if so used by CE, except that Associate may use Protected Information: (i) for the proper management and administration of Associate; (ii) to carry out the legal responsibilities of Associate; or (iii) for Data Aggregation purposes for the Health Care Operations of CE. Additional provisions, if any, governing permitted uses of Protected Information are set forth in Attachment A to this Addendum. Associate agrees to defend and indemnify the Department against third party claims ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ from Associate’s breach of this Addendum.
