Common use of PICKET LINE PROTECTION Clause in Contracts

PICKET LINE PROTECTION. 1. The parties agree that all teachers covered under this Agreement shall have the right to refuse to cross a duly constituted picket line. Such teachers shall be considered absent without pay. 2. Failure to cross a picket line encountered in carrying out school board business shall not be considered a violation of this Agreement nor shall it be grounds for disciplinary action by the Employer. 3. Prior to the commencement of any strike the Local President or designate will meet with the Superintendent to discuss the safety of children. 4. Teachers will not be expected to carry out duties normally performed by striking employees nor shall teachers be required to direct pupils to carry out such duties.
