Planning and Coordination. This sub-factor measures a position’s responsibility for planning and coordinating activities affecting employees, volunteers, alumni, students, other universities/institutions and/or the public., and the effect of exercising these responsibilities. Planning is proactive while coordination is reacting and organizing in response to planning. Planning and coordinating may involve tasks, activities, programs, events, conferences, athletic meets, meetings and calendars. Responsibility for supervising the work or activities of others is considered in the sub-factor “Responsibility for Others.” 1 Planning and coordination are minimal. Order of tasks is generally set, but there may be an expectation to re-order some daily activities to address established priorities.
