Policy and Intent. It is the intent and it shall be the policy of the Board to return an employee on leave of absence to the same position, status and pay, unless circumstances make it impossible to return the employee to a position of like nature. In addition, an employee will be granted an increment if not at the maximum step. This provision shall be interpreted in a manner consistent with the family and medical leave act (FMLA).
