Position Transfer. A permanent full-time employee may request a lateral transfer at any time within their same position (in the same location and department). through a written request to the Out of Scope Manager and Human Resources. Every reasonable effort will be made to grant such a request when a vacancy occurs. The Employer will provide justification in writing to the Union when requests cannot be granted. In the case of more than one application, consideration will be given in order of seniority. When an employee is transferred, their rate of pay and their increment date shall not be changed, except where the rate of pay in their old position is between two rates in the new position, in which case their rate of pay will be increased to the nearest higher rate.
