POSITIONS DEFINED. The parties mutually recognize that the unique nature of the operation of a public school district necessitates that certain positions be established for less than a full twelve (12) month period each year; and further, that during the student vacation periods and the summer months when school is not in session a limited part of the total work force may consist of seasonal employees; and it is further provided that under some circumstances, it will be necessary to employ substitutes on an hourly or day-to- day basis. To distinguish these various positions the following definitions are agreed upon: (a) Full-time Employees. Any regular employee whose position has an annual work period of twelve (12) months on a regular work week and works eight (8) hours per day is a full-time employee.
POSITIONS DEFINED. It is agreed that employees who, as a part of their regular duties and spend a majority of their time in the following operations, and are not otherwise excluded by the recognition statement of the Agreement, will be considered an operating engineer, maintenance mechanic or helper / trainee and shall be primarily but not exclusively responsible for: Operating and maintaining or assisting in operating and maintaining all heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning equipment (HVAC), co-generation equipment, turbine motors, pumps, air-compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, fans, siphons, also automatic and power-oiling pumps and engines, operating or assisting in operating, maintaining all instrumentation and appurtenances utilizing energy from nuclear fission or fusion and its products, such as radioactive isotopes.

  • – SCOPE & DEFINITIONS 2.01 The Employer recognizes the Union as the bargaining agent for all Registered and Graduate nurses employed by Foyer des Pionniers, at Hearst, Ontario, engaged in a nursing capacity, save and except the Director of Nursing and persons above the rank of Director of Nursing. (a) A full-time employee shall mean an employee covered by this Agreement who is committed to and regularly works the full work period of seventy- five (75) bi-weekly hours, exclusive of overtime. (b) A regular part-time employee is one who is committed to and regularly works less than the full prescribed bi-weekly hours of work. (c) A casual part-time employee means an employee who is called to work on a call in basis, but who does not work a regular schedule, or does so only for a specified period. Such employee has the option of refusing work when it is made available to her, however, it is also understood that a casual part-time employee cannot unreasonably or consistently refuse to work shifts. 2.03 Whenever the feminine pronoun is used in this agreement, it includes the masculine pronoun, where the context so requires and vice-versa. Where the singular is used, it may also be deemed to mean the plural and vice-versa.
