Posted Overtime. In Oshawa, posted overtime sheets referred to in this Agreement (Article 15.04) will be posted by 3:00 a.m. Friday, on long weekends the sheets will be posted 24 hours earlier.
Posted Overtime. Overtime requirements that become known at least 1 week in advance will normally be posted. The posting will indicate the overtime shift(s), and number of Employees required. Subject to section 18 of the Employment Standards Act, the overtime will be allocated first to the Full Time Employee(s) who applied and who has worked the least number of overtime hours since the previous January 1, and second to the Part Time Employee(s) who applied and who has worked the least number of overtime hours since the previous January 1. Where there are no volunteers to work the overtime, the Employer shall assign the work in accordance with Article 15.05(d)(ii), Non-Posted Overtime.
Posted Overtime. 1. Overtime posted with more than twenty-four (24) hours notice will be filled based on seniority. 2. Bumping rights will expire twenty-four (24) hours prior to the shift requiring overtime. If bumping rights occur then it is the responsibility for the person with more seniority to notify the person they are bumping. Do not use white out or liquid paper to cover up the person’s name. Cross it out and then write your name beside it. 3. If the posted overtime is not filled within twenty-four (24) hours of the shift requiring overtime, the sheriff ( or designee ) will call down the seniority list and fill the overtime opportunity on a first come first serve basis. 4. Once an employee signs up for an overtime opportunity it his/her responsibility to work the overtime or if for some reason they are not able to work the overtime opportunity then it is their responsibility to find someone to work for them. Do not use white out or liquid paper to cover up your name. Cross it out and then initial it, having the person filling the overtime sign beside your name. 5. If an overtime opportunity occurs prior to eight (8) hours but less than twenty- four (24) hours of a shift, then the sheriff ( or designee ) will utilize a seniority call list to fill the overtime opportunity. If the overtime opportunity is not filled then the sheriff or his designee will utilize Section B of this policy.
Posted Overtime. Officers may sign up for posted overtime and may bump on the basis of seniority. Sergeants are eligible to volunteer for posted overtime shifts, if no sergeant is scheduled to work during that particular shift. In these cases sergeants have priority selection of the time over patrol officers. The patrol division commander may set an initial maximum number of hours for each officer to sign up for overtime. After reaching the time limit for such sign-up, all remaining overtime may be claimed on the basis of seniority.
Posted Overtime. Scheduled community events such as parades and festivals require public works participation for setup, operation, and removal. Overtime for these events will be awarded to qualified employees with the least amount of overtime who volunteer. Seniority will govern among employees equal in overtime hours.
Posted Overtime. In situations where the vacancy is more than seventy-two (72) hours, overtime will be posted in advance for radio room operators to consider if they would like to work. Overtime will then be offered to the radio room operator lowest on the equalization roster, that signed up to work the shift. If no radio room operator accepts the overtime offered, then the overtime will be forced by reverse seniority. If a radio room operator fails to work the mandated overtime shift, then the radio room operator will be disciplined accordingly. 1. If overtime is not accepted by a radio room operator, the least senior radio room operator that is not on scheduled time off will be forced to work the overtime. 2. If overtime is not accepted by a radio room operator above, the least senior radio room operator that is on scheduled time off will be forced to work the overtime.
Posted Overtime. Overtime that is offered using the call-in and/or overtime sign-up lists/sheets referenced in Sections 28.2 and 28.

  • Banked Overtime With the exception of overtime earned while regular pay is suspended in accordance with Article 25.03(iv), overtime may, at the Employee’s option, be banked according to the following: (i) This provision is available only to permanent full-time Employees. (ii) For each overtime hour worked, two (2) regular hours may be banked. (iii) The total number of hours in the bank will not exceed eighty (80) hours at any one time. An Employee may request payment in full or in part for banked overtime credits at any time and such credits will be paid out at the hourly rate in effect when the overtime was worked. Banked overtime taken as time off in lieu will be paid at the rate in effect at that time. (iv) Banked overtime may only be scheduled as time off in lieu when mutually agreed between the Employee and the out-of-scope Supervisor. Requests for time in lieu must be submitted to the out-of-scope Supervisor as soon as reasonably practicable. In any case banked time will not be approved until the vacation schedule referred to in Article 19.05(ii), has been established. In no case will banked overtime be scheduled where coverage results in further overtime. (v) Banked overtime credits earned in one (1) calendar year must be used by March 31 of the following year. Banked overtime credits from the previous year not used by March 31 will be automatically paid out. (vi) All banked hours shall be paid out should the Employee permanently move from one bid location to another. Employees appointed to a temporary position must have their time off in lieu approved by the out-of-scope Supervisor in charge of the position when the time off in lieu is to be taken. (vii) Employees shall not be permitted to take banked time off in lieu after August 31 if they still have unscheduled vacation credits that were earned in the previous calendar year. (viii) At no time will the overtime bank have negative hours.

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • Mandatory Overtime a. Mandatory Overtime is overtime that an employee is assigned and required to work involuntarily, and will only be required in operational emergencies when sufficient voluntary overtime cannot be secured to maintain the Company’s operation. Mandatory overtime will be limited to the number of employees and hours required to cover the emergency as determined by local management. b. Mandatory overtime will not exceed 4 hours past an employee’s scheduled shift in any 24 hour period. Employees will not be required to work mandatory overtime until the opportunity to work the additional hours has been offered to all qualified employees who are currently at work, and if there are an insufficient number of volunteers, then to otherwise eligible employees whose names remain on the overtime call sign up list. c. Mandatory overtime will be assigned in reverse bid seniority order according to shift time, except that employees already working overtime will be assigned last. d. Every attempt will be made to notify employees on duty of mandatory overtime at least 1 hour in advance. If 1 hour’s advance notice is not provided, the employee will receive 1 ½ hours’ pay as a penalty in addition to the pay earned for any mandatory overtime hours actually worked. e. Employees will not be assigned mandatory overtime during their vacation periods. For this purpose, the vacation period is defined as the period beginning 24 hours after the commencement of the employee’s last regularly scheduled shift before the vacation commenced. An employee may be assigned to mandatory overtime on the last regularly assigned shift prior to a vacation or DAT day, but will be placed at the bottom of the mandatory overtime list. f. If any mandatory overtime causes a rest period violation to occur, every attempt will be made to adjust the employee’s shift to provide the minimum 8 hours rest. g. All mandatory overtime hours will be paid at the applicable rate of pay but not less than the time and one half (1.5X) rate of pay regardless of work status or hours worked. If an employee is required to work mandatory overtime on two or more consecutive days, the minimum payment for all mandatory overtime hours worked will be at the double-time (2X) rate of pay.
