Preliminary Design Conference Clause Samples

The Preliminary Design Conference clause establishes a formal meeting between the parties to review and discuss the initial design concepts for a project. Typically, this conference occurs early in the project timeline and involves key stakeholders, such as the client, design professionals, and sometimes contractors, to ensure alignment on design objectives, requirements, and constraints. By facilitating early communication and feedback, this clause helps prevent misunderstandings, streamlines the design process, and reduces the risk of costly revisions later in the project.
Preliminary Design Conference. The Engineer shall prepare and submit a preliminary Design Summary Report (DSR) to the State for review and approval and shall attend an initial Kick-Off Meeting to establish and agree on fundamental aspects and concepts and to establish the basic features and design criteria for the project. This meeting will be coordinated with any adjacent projects to ensure continuity.
Preliminary Design Conference. The Engineer shall plan and coordinate a Design Concept Conference (DCC) to discuss and document design parameters for the project, including typical section elements such as lane width, shoulder width and buffer width, design speed, ramp design parameters and, other roadway elements. The Design Concept Conference shall be attended by the Engineer, the State and other stakeholders identified by the State. The Engineer shall prepare and submit a preliminary Design Summary Report (DSR) to the State for review and approval and shall lead an initial Kick-Off Meeting to establish and agree on fundamental aspects and concepts and to establish the basic features and design criteria for the project. Preliminary Design Conference. The Engineer shall develop the roadway design criteria based on the controlling factors specified by the State (i.e. 4R, 3R, 2R, or special facilities), by use of the funding categories, design speed, functional classification, roadway class and any other set criteria as set forth in PS&E Preparation Manual, Roadway Design Manual, Bridge Design Manual, Hydraulic Design Manual, and other deemed necessary State approved manuals. The Engineer shall prepare and submit a preliminary geometric Design Summary Report (DSR) along with a Design Criteria Table (DCT) to the State for review and approval. In accordance with the State’s Project Development Process Manual, the Engineer, in cooperation with the State, shall plan, attend and document a Design Concept Conference (DCC) to be held prior to the 30 percent milestone submittal. This meeting will be coordinated with any adjacent projects to ensure continuity. The conference will provide for a brainstorming session in which decision makers, stakeholders (e.g., affected property owners, elected officials, or businesses) and technical personnel (e.g., both State and Engineer technical staff) may discuss and agree on: 1. Roadway and drainage design parameters 2. Engineering and environmental constraints 3. Project development schedule 4. Other issues as identified by the State 5. Identify any Design Exceptions and waivers
Preliminary Design Conference. At the request of the City, or as otherwise specified in Exhibit A, Consultant must attend a preliminary design conference with the Project Manager. At the request of the Project Manager, the Consultant must submit written minutes of the preliminary design conference in order to demonstrate its understanding of the Project requirements.
Preliminary Design Conference. The ENGINEER shall prepare and submit a Design Summary Report (DSR) to the COUNTY for review and approval. Additionally, the ENGINEER will attend a Kick-Off Meeting to establish and agree on fundamental aspects, concepts, establish the basic features and design criteria for the project. 1. Field Notes and Site Photographs 2. Design Summary Report (DSR) The ENGINEER will prepare an ultimate typical section based on a 6-lane urban major thoroughfare. The ENGINEER will prepare and analyze an interim typical section (4-lane) as deemed appropriate and in coordination with the most recent traffic analysis within and surrounding the corridor. The COUNTY will provide selection and approval of any alternate design criteria and typical corridor section. 1. Ultimate and interim typical sections for the corridor.
Preliminary Design Conference. The Engineer shall prepare and submit a preliminary Design Summary Report (DSR) to the State for review and approval and must attend an initial Kick-Off Meeting to establish and agree on fundamental aspects and concepts and to establish the basic features and design criteria for the project. This meeting will be coordinated with any adjacent projects to ensure continuity. The base maps to be used for the analysis and proposed schematic layout shall be developed by the Engineer from existing construction and right of way (ROW) plans as available. The Engineer shall re-establish the existing centerline horizontal alignments for all roadways, identify existing ROW, property owners and the approximate location of major utilities based on a ▇▇▇ in the preparation of base maps.
Preliminary Design Conference. The Engineer shall prepare and submit a preliminary Design Summary Report (DSR) to the State for review and approval and shall attend an initial Kick‐Off Meeting to establish and agree on fundamental aspects and concepts and to establish the basic features and design criteria for the project. This meeting will be coordinated with any adjacent projects to ensure continuity. Context Sensitive Design. The Engineer shall provide the following, which must be (1) prepared or performed by or under the supervision of a Landscape Architect holding a certificate of registration under Chapter 1052 of the Texas Occupations Code and (2) sealed as required by Section 1052.152 of the Texas Occupations Code:
