Common use of Preliminary Estimate Clause in Contracts

Preliminary Estimate. When sufficient Project information has been identified, the Design-Builder shall prepare for the Owner’s acceptance a preliminary estimate utilizing area, volume or similar conceptual estimating techniques. The estimate shall be updated periodically with the level of detail for each estimate update reflecting the information then available. If the preliminary estimate or any update exceeds the Owner’s budget, the Design-Builder shall make recommendations to the Owner.
