Preliminary Procedure. 8.3.1 The grievant or the grievant's representative shall meet with the immediate supervisor to discuss the potential grievance in an attempt to resolve it informally. If the potential grievance is not resolved at this level, the grievant may proceed to the Formal Procedure. Either the grievant or the immediate supervisor may have a conferee present at such a conference. 8.3.2 Following the preliminary procedure the grievant and the immediate supervisor may mutually agree to proceed to Level II.
