Common use of Preliminary Step Clause in Contracts

Preliminary Step. Prior to filing a written grievance, an employee must attempt to resolve a grievance informally with their supervisor or the Director of Facilities Management. If neither the supervisor or the Director of Facilities Management responds to the employee’s attempt to resolve the grievance within five (5) working days, then the employee may utilize the procedures set forth below in Sec. B., Step One.
