PROBATIONARY PARAEDUCATOR Clause Samples

The "Probationary Paraeducator" clause establishes the terms and conditions under which a newly hired paraeducator is considered to be on probation. Typically, this means that for a specified initial period of employment, the paraeducator's performance and suitability for the role are closely evaluated by the employer. During this time, the paraeducator may have different rights regarding job security, evaluation procedures, or eligibility for certain benefits compared to permanent staff. The core function of this clause is to provide the employer with a structured period to assess new paraeducators before granting them full employment status, thereby reducing the risk of unsuitable long-term hires.
