PROCEDURE FOR SETTLEMENT OF GRIEVANCES. 1. First Step-Immediate Supervisor Any employee who believes that he or she has a grievance shall discuss such grievance with his or her immediate supervisor (designated for that purpose by the department head), with or without a Union representative, within five (5) regularly scheduled working days of the occurrence or knowledge of the event over which the employee believes he or she is aggrieved. The immediate supervisor shall orally answer the grievance within two (2) regularly scheduled working days. Inthe event the grievance involves the immediate supervisor, the Department will designate someone else to hear the First Step.
