Common use of PROMOTION TO SUPERVISORY POSITION Clause in Contracts

PROMOTION TO SUPERVISORY POSITION. An employee who is promoted to a supervisory position will, if returned to the bargaining unit within months after the promotion, have accumulated full seniority. If returned to the bargaining unit more than twelve (12) months after the promotion, he will only have the seniority he had at the time he was promoted. However, should a supervisory employee be returned to the bargaining unit, it will not result in the layoff of an employee with more than one (1) year's seniority. Employees so promoted will be on a trial period of three months which may be longer on agreement of the parties, during which time the employee may request to be put back to his former position.
