Common use of Resolution of Conflicts in Documents Clause in Contracts

Resolution of Conflicts in Documents. Where conflicts may exist within the Contract Documents, the documents shall govern in the following order: (a) Change Orders, addenda, and written amendments to the Contract; (b) the Contract; (c) Drawings; (d) Specifications (but Specifications shall control over Drawings as to quality of materials and workmanship); and (e) other Contract Documents. Among categories of documents having the same order of precedence, the term or provision that includes the latest date shall control and more specific requirements shall govern over general requirements. Contractor shall notify A/E and City for resolution of the issue prior to executing the Work in question.
