If an employee is assigned the full duties and responsibilities of a higher-level position for a period of more than 10 consecutive scheduled workdays (or the equivalent in an alternate work schedule) and the temporary responsibility for such duties is not part of the normal position, a change in status is required. If an employee is assigned only part of the duties and responsibilities of a higher-level position for a period expected to extend beyond 10 consecutive scheduled workdays (or the equivalent in an alternate work schedule), the position should be reviewed to see whether a change in status is warranted. Regardless of whether a change in status is required, a record of this higher-level experience is reflected in the employee’s service review. A. Basic Schedule Provisions 1. Regular Schedules of Work
