Rest Period Between Shifts. Except as noted otherwise in this agreement when as a result of the assignment of work, an employee does not have at least eight (8) hours rest between shifts; the Company shall grant eight (8) hours rest.

Rest Period Between Shifts. Except as noted otherwise in this agreement when When as a result of the assignment of work, an employee does not have at least eight (8) hours rest between shifts; the Company shall grant eight (8) hours restrest upon the request of the affected employee, except when an employee has chosen work with less than eight (8) hours rest between shifts. In the case of an Operator the provisions of the National Safety Code shall apply.
