Common use of Rest Periods and Clean-up Time Clause in Contracts

Rest Periods and Clean-up Time. A. Employees shall be allowed two (2) rest periods of up to fifteen (15) minutes per workday. Rest periods may not be used to either extend the meal break or reduce the length of the workday without prior approval of the department head. Employees who work less than a five-day workweek shall be allowed rest periods not to exceed a total of two and a half hours per workweek. The rest periods shall be of equal length and scheduled at equal intervals throughout each workday. B. Employees shall continue to enjoy the same clean-up benefits that existed on June 30, 2012.
