Common use of Returning Former Teachers Clause in Contracts

Returning Former Teachers. i. If a teacher resigns from the District and is re-employed at any time within four (4) school years, the teacher will be given full credit for previous in-District experience and full credit for out-of-district experience up to the limits of this policy and commensurate with the teacher’s educational attainment. ii. Once a teacher assumes a new position within the District that is no longer paid on the licensed Salary Schedule, the teacher will not be given credit for those years of service if they return to a licensed position. However, if they return to a position paid on the licensed Salary Schedule at any time with no break in service with the District, the teacher will return to their original step and lane on the Salary Schedule.
