Returning Teachers. Frozen Education Pay
Returning Teachers. Returning teachers shall come in at the current rate of pay from the individual’s previous school year contract and receive the guaranteed annual increase. The dollar amount for changing lanes will be $1,500.00. When making a lane change, the teacher will still receive the guaranteed annual increase and the tier increase. Any returning teacher who falls at or below the proposed base salary at the time of the base salary increase and does not receive more than a newly hired teacher after their tier reimbursement and guaranteed annual increase, will receive the new base as well as their guaranteed annual increase and their tier reimbursement for the upcoming year.
Returning Teachers. Each teacher employed by the district in 2019-2020 and returning to the district in 2020-2021 shall receive an increase of $1,700.00 on his/her base salary for the 2020-2021 year. All returning teachers with one year of teaching experience will be paid at least the base salary plus $250.00.
Returning Teachers. Returning teachers shall receive equal credit for all previous experience in the District and shall not be placed lower on the salary schedule than they were when services were completed.

8.5.1.2 During the one hundred eighty-six (186) day work year, teachers are required to attend six Staff Development Days adjacent to or during the school year.
Returning Teachers. Returning teachers will increase by the Year of Experience Increment amount of $800.00 in 2019-2020 and $1,300.00 in 2020-2021. Part-time teachers will receive a proportionate amount. Teachers whose salaries reach the Maximum Salary amount will receive 75% of the amount of the Year of Experience increase amount. At the end of the 2019-2020/2020- 2021 Master Agreement, the Career Increment will sunset and continue with a Year of Experience Increase for all teachers. The purpose of this sunset is to allow for future review of the career increment component of the salary structure. Teachers whose Year of Experience increase causes the salary to exceed the Maximum Salary amount will receive either the full Year of Experience Increase OR the Maximum Salary plus Career Increment, whichever is less. Teachers during the 2018-2019 contract period on Step 0 will move to Step 1, Step 1 to Step 2, Step 2 to Step 3 and Step 3 to Step 3.5. In addition $100 will be added for each year of experience from 1 year to 7 years in 2018-2019 school year. (ie; teacher with 7 years experience would receive an additional $700 in addition to the above mentioned adjustment) This will be their adjusted base pay, before adding the increase for returning teachers to the 2019-2020 contract.

B. Guaranteed Annual Increase: The district shall provide each full-time contracted teacher with a $500.00 annual increase to the teacher’s salary compensation package and each part-time contracted teacher will receive the proportional amount (ex., .5 contracted will receive .5 x $500.00). C. Additional Teacher’s Salary Compensation, if any, will be across-the-board increases as negotiated. For the 2014 - 15 school year, the additional across-the-board increase will be $1,250.00 for each full-time teacher. Part-time teachers will receive a proportional amount (ex., .5 contracted teacher will receive .5 x $1,250.00). An additional $000.00 will be added to the insurance or annuity for the 2014 - 15 salary.
D. Credits earned beyond the Masters Lane; MA/MS; shall be in an approved plan-of-study for an equivalent or advanced degree through the individual’s institution of study.
Returning Teachers. A. Teacher salaries and eligibility factors for increases in salary are shown on Attachments A and B.
B. As required by I.C. 20-28-9-1, a teacher who was employed as a teacher at IPS before October 1, 2014 and has remained employed by IPS as a teacher will continue to receive his/her educational or “lane” pay determined by his/her degree status as of September 2, 2014.

In addition, returning teachers will receive retention payments as follows. The retention payments will not become part of the teacher’s base salary and will not otherwise be included in base salary for purposes of future salary increases or any other purpose. For any teacher who is first hired on or before September 1, 2024 and who is continuously employed through the date of payment: • $500 paid in June 2026 • $500 paid in June 2027 • $1,000 paid in June 2028 For any teacher who is first hired after September 1, 2024 and on or before September 1, 2025 and who is continuously employed through the date of payment: • $500 paid in June 2027 • $500 paid in June 2028 For any teacher who is first hired after September 1, 2025 and on or before September 1, 2026 and who is continuously employed through the date of payment: • $500 paid in June 2028 Except that returning teachers who will be receiving increases for the applicable school year under Article IX, Section E (Retirement Incentive Program) will not also receive any retention payment set forth above. A returning teacher shall be eligible for additional compensation for credit hours or degrees not previously reflected in his/her prior year’s salary and will receive an additional $2,350 for each of the following: earning 15 semester hours beyond his/her BA/BS Degree; earning a MA or MS Degree; and earning an additional 15, 30 and 45 hours beyond a MA or MS Degree.
