PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. For all staff members hired after May 31, 2014, outside experience credit will be given for up to seven (7) years. To be eligible for educational advancement, a staff member must be taking graduate-level classes that are part of an advanced degree program or endorsement that will benefit the district. All courses used for this credit must be approved by the Superintendent or his/her designee. Only fully licensed staff members will be eligible for these tracks. Undergraduate course work will count for educational advancement provided that: 1) the staff member is not eligible to take graduate courses in that field; 2) that the course work will directly benefit the staff member’s assignment or anticipated assignment; and 3) such courses are approved by the Superintendent or the Superintendent’s designee. Grandfather Clause: Licensed staff members who prior to January 1, 2018, began taking graduate-level courses that extend past MA but do not lead to an advanced degree or endorsement may be approved to continue taking such courses for educational advancement to either MA+15 or MA+30 (only one, not both), provided that the coursework is completed and grades are submitted by December 30, 2019. MA + 30 will be available only for staff members hired prior to June 1, 2014. A Master of Social Work/Psychology Degree shall be considered the equivalent of MA+30. Based upon degree program, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists may also be considered equivalent of MA + 30. Educational advancement will only occur once a year at the beginning of the school year. In order to qualify educational advancement in a given year, the staff member must notify the Human Resources Department by submitting an official transcript, grade report or certificate of completion no later than September 1st in the year in which the educational advancement is to take place. The actual change and corresponding compensation adjustment will only occur when the official transcript is received by the Human Resources Department and will be retroactive to the beginning of the school year. Salary computations shall be made on the basis of 180 days for the duration of the agreement. All pro-rated days shall have salary adjusted accordingly. Staff members who are injured on the job while actively performing their assigned duties shall suffer no loss in pay for a temporary disability resulting from such injury. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The salaries and supplemental Schedule B stipends of teacher covered by this Agreement are set forth in Schedules "A" and "B" which are attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. B. Outside teaching experience in schools of approved standing may be granted at full credit. This provision shall not be retroactive prior to the date of this contract. C. Salary adjustments for advanced training will be made twice each year at the beginning of each semester (pro-rated for second semester) for training completed prior to either date at a state accredited college or university. It shall be the responsibility of the teacher to notify the personnel office within thirty (30) days of the completion of the necessary work and/or confirmation of the degree. D. When normal daily load of any teacher is expanded through assignment of extra students or by changing teacher’s assignment for the day to provide for lack of substitutes, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid $25.00 per class in the Senior High and Middle School. When pupils in any elementary class are divided among several teachers, said teachers shall be paid at a total rate per day not to exceed substitute pay plus $5.00 and to be divided among teachers involved. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period on an ongoing basis to take a teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one-sixth of their daily rate for the Middle School and 1/5 for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignment. E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of school. 1. Payment of twenty-six (26) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by the salary schedule. 2. Those staff members who elect the twenty-six (26) payment schedule may select one of two options: a. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. The basic salaries of teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix A, which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. Such salary schedule shall remain in effect during the term of this Agreement.
PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The salaries of teachers covered by the Agreement are set forth in Appendix D, which is attached to, and incorporated in, this Agreement. Such salary schedules shall remain in effect from the first teacher report day of the next school year. B. Traveling teachers shall be compensated for driving between schools or other required points of work at the rate allowable by IRS. Mileage will be computed from the mutually agreed upon table. Payment will be made at the end of each semester in a separate check. C. Teachers shall have the option of a twenty-one (21) or twenty-six (26) equal pay plan through the year. The pay plans shall be continuous every other week. Direct deposit is mandatory. D. The Board agrees to provide voluntary deductions as approved by the Board and the bargaining unit such as: annuities, charitable contributions, insurance. Such deductions, however, shall not be contrary to law. E. The Board recognizes that each teacher shall have 5 unassigned preparation periods per week. However, in the event that an unfilled position exists in the district, the following steps will be used to cover the absent teacher. ● Fill the position with substitutes within the building on their prep period. ● Fill the position within the building with a teacher, curriculum coach, or counselor who chooses to volunteer during his/her prep period. ● Call back staff on an inservice/conference to return to the district (if possible) At the beginning of the school year, the building administrator shall post a shared digital document of a rotation schedule to staff, which shall include load-bearing and certified non-loadbearing staff such as curriculum coaches, counselors, and administrators. Non-loadbearing staff shall have an assigned planning period for the purpose of subbing. Once all of the above options have been exhausted, the position will be filled by assigning a teacher, curriculum coach, counselor or administrator from the established schedule. The person assigned to sub will then move to the bottom of the rotation for the next occurrence during their prep hour. This process will be used to distribute the responsibilities of student coverage during a sub shortage so that the burden of coverage is shared among staff. If a substitute is not secured and a presently employed teacher substitutes during his preparation period, he will choose to be paid either $50 per hour or one comp hour in addition to his regular salary. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The salaries of teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Schedule A which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. Each pay period each teacher shall receive the following information: 1. Gross Pay 2. Breakdown of deductions including: a. Federal Income Tax b. State Income Tax c. Social Security d. Hospitalization Insurance e. As of July 2005 all new payroll deductions will be done to financial institutions if five or more staff members signed up for the deduction to that institution. B. The salary schedules are based upon a normal weekly teaching load according to the accepted school calendar except that any additional compensation shall be set forth according to Schedule B which shall name the specific duty and amount to be paid for the performance thereof. Payment for extra duties shall be made in a payroll period providing the time report is in the main office by 1 p.m. Friday prior to the payday week. The Board of Education reserves the right to create additional voluntary extra-duty assignments and will use the posting policy. C. The following legal holidays shall be observed and all schools closed: New Year’s Day Thanksgiving Day Memorial Day Christmas Day Labor Day D. When a meeting is scheduled at the request of the Board, a teacher engaged during the school day in negotiation on behalf of the Association with any representatives of the Board or participating in any professional grievance negotiation including arbitration shall be released from regular duties without loss of salary. E. Teachers and their spouses are to be admitted free to all school-sponsored activities. F. Teachers will be paid on either a basis of twenty (20) or twenty-six (26) payments, but once the choice is made it cannot be changed during the school year. G. The Board may grant up to ten (10) years on the salary schedule for prior experience. H. Teachers will be granted three (3) personal leave days providing the following criteria are adhered to: 1. No more than three (3) teachers per building may be absent on personal leave on any given day. 2. One (1) week prior notice is required unless it is an emergency. 3. Teachers who do not use their personal business days will receive payment of “daily substitute teacher pay” for each unused day on the first payroll following the last day of school. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The salaries of teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Schedule A and subject to the provisions of Schedule A, which is attached to, and incorporated in, this Agreement. 1. The salary Schedule A. I. is for a normal teaching load as defined in Article VI. For extra duty which has received prior administrative approval, the teacher shall be entitled to appropriate professional compensation: in compensatory time; through a teacher's hourly rate as defined in ¶ B.3; or in accordance with Sections E or F of this Article; or as listed in Schedule A. II, as may be applicable. The administration shall establish a system-wide list of additional activities for which compensatory time will be available and the amount of compensatory time associated with each. This list shall be updated with HEA input on a yearly basis and be distributed to teachers at the start of each school year. 2. Compensatory time is defined as personal leave earned by extra duty, and may be substituted for monetary payment equal to the teacher hourly rate as defined in ¶ B.3. a. Accrued compensatory time may be used at the discretion of the teacher provided that, compensatory time shall not be scheduled for use on more that three (3) consecutive school days. Furthermore, compensatory time may not be scheduled contiguous to Christmas, mid- winter and/or spring break. Exceptions for special circumstances my be granted by the signed approval of the building principal and contingent upon substitute availability. Within five (5) days the teacher must confirm with the building principal that a substitute has been obtained. b. Compensatory time shall be credited and deducted as follows: For substitution at the High School, Middle School, and Elementary level during a teacher’s planning period or specials time, a “unit” of instruction shall be credited and deducted in whole units. Five (5) “units” of instruction shall equate to one compensatory “day”. Compensatory time can only be earned and used in whole “units”. c. A teacher may carry over a maximum of the equivalence of ten (10) days of accumulated compensatory time to the next school year. Should a teacher have more than ten (10) days of compensatory time accumulated at the end of the school year the teacher shall have the option of either converting his/her compensatory time he/she has accumulated beyond the ten (10) day carry over maximum into sick time at a one (1) compensatory day (or portion thereof) to one (1) sick leave day (...
PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The salary schedule is based upon normal full-time teaching load as hereinafter defined in this Article and Article 5 of this Agreement and upon the school calendar. The denominator to determine a teacher’s daily pay will be the number of teacher obligation days listed on the calendar. Scheduled days and hours of student instruction which are not held because of conditions not within the control of school authorities, such as (severe storms), fires, epidemics, (utility power unavailability, water or sewer failure), or health conditions (as defined by city, county or State health authorities) will be rescheduled to ensure that there are a minimum number of days and hours of student instruction as prescribed by the Revised School Code and the State School Aid Act to enable the Board to receive full pupil membership and categorical appropriations. Teachers shall be excused from reporting for school on those days on which school is closed due to the above conditions. Teachers will receive their regular pay for days that are cancelled, but shall work the rescheduled days and/or hours with no additional compensation. Teachers who have been previously scheduled to take paid leave under this Agreement on a day(s) of pupil instruction that is cancelled due to the conditions specified in this Article shall not have their absence on such day(s) charged against paid leave provided that the teacher works any required rescheduled day(s) and/or hours of instruction without additional compensation, as specified in this Article. The parties agree that this contract provision has been negotiated to comply with the provisions of the State School Aid Act; to ensure that the District will incur no loss of State aid; and to comply with requirements set forth in the Revised School Code and State School Aid Act respecting the required number of “student instruction” days and hours. If any scheduled days and hours of student instruction are canceled after May 20, whether or not these cancelled days and hours are required to be rescheduled for receipt of State aid, these cancelled days and hours will be rescheduled as part of the school calendar unless the Board and Association mutually agree to waive this provision. The purpose of this provision is to provide a smooth end to the school year. B. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. 16.1 The base salaries of employees covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix A which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. Economic benefits for part-time employees shall be calculated on a pro rata basis. In the event of an extended school year due to weather, part-time employees who are asked by the administration to extend their individual contracted days agreement to offer scheduled classes to students shall be paid at their per diem rate. 16.2 Employees shall be given full credit toward initial placement on the salary schedule set forth in Appendix A for years accredited of K-12 teaching experience at a state certified school while holding a valid teaching certificate. 16.3 Advancement on the salary schedule shall be in accordance with earned annual experience, earned academic achievement and a recommendation made by the principal and approved by the Superintendent based upon the evaluation process. If the evaluation falls into the classification of not competent or needs improvement, the step increase will not be granted. 16.4 The salary schedule is based upon the regular school calendar set forth in Article VII and the normal teaching assignment as defined in this Agreement and set forth in the annual individual teacher contract (See Appendix B). 16.5 Salary adjustment for additional years of service shall be automatically credited at the beginning of each school year. 16.6 Full time teachers serving more than one-half of a school year will be eligible for credit for a year’s service. 16.7 Longevity status will be entered at the completion of step 15. After 15 (fifteen) years of continuous service to the Dunbarton School District, payments of $750 per year will be given for years 16 through 18; $1,150 per year for years 19 through 24; and $1,650 for years 25 and above. Non-cumulative. 16.7.1 Effective July 1, 2013 teachers who are on step 15 for a second year and who have a minimum of 5 years of continuous service at Dunbarton Elementary School will receive a $750.00 stipend annually, non-cumulative. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. The basic salaries of teacher covered by this Agreement are set forth in VI-2 Compensation Schedule which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. Except where noted, this salary schedule shall remain in effect during the term of this Agreement. The Noble Public Schools will administer a payroll system ensuring accurate compensation and withholding based on information supplied by the employee. Should an error be brought forth by the employee or the school within five (5) years, a correction will be made. In no circumstance will interest, penalties or double compensation be added or reduced from the corrected amount. All teachers shall be given full credit on this salary schedule set for in VI-2 for full years of outside teaching experience in any school district accredited by the State of Oklahoma. No teacher shall be granted credit for more than five (5) years active duty in the military service, or out-of- state teaching experience as a certified teacher. Additional out of state teaching experience may be granted on a case by case basis by the Superintendent/School Board. Placement on the salary schedule shall be in accordance with the teacher’s approved years of experience, highest degree held, and the number of credits earned beyond said degree as reflected in the salary schedule. Salary adjustments, due to increased experience or higher degree or additional credit hours shall be made once a year. Said adjustments will be made at the beginning of each school year and will be effective on the first pay period of that school year. Official transcripts showing the completed course work must be on file in the office of the Superintendent no later than September 15. Failure to submit the required documents will result in the loss of the increment requested for that full school year. The responsibility for submission of the proper documents at the proper place and time is that of the teacher. The salary schedule is based on the regular teacher contracted work year. Teachers who are on an extended year contract shall be paid a pro rata daily rate for those days contracted for above the regular contract year.
