TIME TEACHERS. All teachers hired prior to July 1, 1978 who are or who become part-time teachers shall receive the same benefits as full-time teachers except that their salary, sick leave and preparation time shall be determined on a pro rata basis related to full-time teachers. However, any teacher hired prior to July 1, 1978 and who becomes less than half time on or after July 1, 1982, other than as a result of a layoff procedure, will have his/her health insurance and dental insurance benefits maintained at 50% of the contribution by the Board for full-time teachers. All part-time teachers with a hire date of July 1, 1978 or thereafter will have their health insurance and dental insurance benefits prorated in accordance with that portion of a full position that they occupy. The Board shall not initiate any action by which part-time positions are created to eliminate or replace full-time positions.
TIME TEACHERS. A part-time teacher shall mean any teacher assigned less than a full teaching timetable.

TIME TEACHERS. A. To be eligible to receive any fringe benefits a teacher must be under contract for full-time employment. B. No full-time staff members will have their work assignments reduced to hire a part-time teacher to fill an assignment for which the full-time teacher is qualified. C. A less than full-time teacher may be hired when the need exists for a part-time position. D. A part-time teacher shall be placed on the teachers’ salary schedule at the appropriate fraction of an agreed upon step of the salary schedule and shall progress to the next step of the salary schedule annually until the maximum salary step has been reached. The Union shall be informed of the agreement. Agreements made prior to the ratification of this contract shall prevail. E. To accumulate seniority, a part-time teacher must have an elementary and/or secondary teaching certification and be under contract.
TIME TEACHERS. Part-time teachers in secondary schools using a seven- period schedule will be allocated at least 0.2 FTE for each full class taught (5 standard periods .per week or 10 standard periods per two weeks or the equivalent when there is an alternate schedule), not to exceed 1.0
TIME TEACHERS. The District shall provide the same health, and dental insurance coverage and benefits for part-time teachers (who are employed as one-half FTE or more, defined as at least 20 hours per week) as for full-time teachers. The District shall contribute an amount equal to one-half of the amount it contributes on behalf of a full-time teacher; provided, however, that the part-time teacher elects coverage and pays the balance of the premiums for such coverage through payroll deduction. TIME TEACHERS. ‌ L10.1 Part-time teachers shall be paid a salary pro-rated on schedule according to their qualifications and experience. (a) Part-time teachers shall be allowed to participate in the benefit plans pursuant to Article L12.00 and allowances covered by this agreement. Subject to the specifications of the Insurance Carrier, part-time teachers have the right to waive participation in the Benefit Plans. (b) Experience recognized as a result of part-time teachers employed on a regular basis in any one (1) school year, shall be that fraction of a full year they were employed for, rounded off to the nearest tenth. (c) Part-time teachers shall be paid that fraction of full salary that their duty time per week or per cycle or per semester, etc., bears to the corresponding average timetable served during the regular school day by full-time classroom teachers in the school concerned. (d) Supervisory and other duties assigned to full-time regular day school teachers shall be assigned on a proportionate basis to teachers working a part-time day school schedule. (e) A teacher whose timetable is expanded with an occasional assignment can count the timetable expansion for increment and benefit purposes. Such an increase of timetable increases future timetable entitlement. In administering Clause L10.2 (e), the following guidelines apply:

TIME TEACHERS. Teachers employed under contract on a part-time basis shall be paid according to their qualifications as established in Article and at a rate based on the fraction of the time employed. Part-time teachers shall participate in school activities that occur during the regular school day when requested by the Division. When the Division makes such requests part-time teachers shall receive a pro-rata share of their annual salary rate for the time spent participating in the activities over and above the regularly scheduled teaching time. At the Division's discretion time in lieu of salary payment may be given. During each the Division shall request each part-time teacher to participate on a minimum of five (5) occasions in parent-teacher conferences, in-service or other professional development activities. The scheduling of these occasions shall be arranged by the principal in consultation with the teacher. Under extenuating circumstances the Division and teacher may agree to waive this requirement. Part-time teachers employed for less than the full school year shall be requested to participate on the basis of the pro-rated number of designated days during their period of employment.
TIME TEACHERS. 40.1 In order to facilitate the staffing process and reduce the number of Teachers declared surplus annually, Teachers are encouraged to apply for reduced teaching loads by 1 April. 40.1.1 All requests for a leave to reduce teaching load shall be made by 1 April, or 15 November for Semester II, and should be supported by a letter stating relevant details and considerations such as the nature of the change, the length of time the change is to be in effect, and the terms of the Teacher=s return to his/her previous status. 40.1.2 At the end of the part-time assignment, the Teacher will have the right to return to his/her previous teaching status with the Board. Normally the Teacher cannot expect to return to his/her previous teaching status until the expiration of the leave to reduce teaching load. 40.1.3 Should the Teacher wish to return to his/her previous teaching status earlier than arranged, he/she must provide written notification to the Superintendent of Human Resources by 1 April of any year for return the following September. When a Teacher exercises this option, the Board will notify the Federation. 40.2 All Teachers on part-time employment with the Board will accrue seniority at the full-time rate during the period of his/her part-time employment. 40.3 A part-time Teacher whose work load in the two semesters is not equal, shall be paid in the same ratio as the ratios worked in each semester, except as provided for in Article 40.4 below. 40.4 A Teacher who chooses to teach part-time for a school year, shall have the option, if exercised prior to 1 August for the upcoming school year, of having his/her salary paid according to his/her teaching assignment each semester, or divided equally between the two semesters. 40.5 Except as otherwise provided in this Collective Agreement, the grid salary, allowances over and above grid salary and any other entitlements shall be prorated in the ratio that the Teacher’s assignment bears to a full-time assignment. Workload proration shall be in accordance with Article 15.
