Common use of Safe Working Conditions Clause in Contracts

Safe Working Conditions. (a) In the interest of the employee's personal safety, the Employer shall comply with the Workers' Compensation Board Regulations. (b) Winter shifts will be arranged in such a manner that contact with employees will be possible from a local base station or from another employee working out of the same point of assembly or, where sufficiently close, adjoining point of assembly. The matter of determining which points of assembly are sufficiently close will be referred to joint safety committees. (c) The parties agree that the Employer's responsibility in this clause is the assignment of personnel. Absence of an employee due to sickness or for any other reason shall not constitute a violation of this clause.
