School Opening. A new educational facility opening where none had existed before or where a school had previously been closed and then reopened.
School Opening. School openings shall be staffed solely in accordance with the provisions of this Section and without regard to provisions contained in other sections of this Article. 12.10.1. Whenever a new school is to be opened, an effort will be made to identify at least fifty percent (50%) of the expected vacancies at least four (4) months prior to the scheduled opening. 12.10.2. Selection of the staff for the new school shall be by the post and bid system as follows: 12.10.2.1. First Post (as soon as practicable). Up to fifty (50%) of the expected positions will be posted. The District will select the unit members to fill the vacancy from all district applicants deemed qualified by the Human Resource Services Division.
School Opening. Reasonable efforts shall be made to have classroom facilities operable for every class in time for school opening each September.
School Opening. When a new school is to be opened, the following procedures shall be followed in transferring unit members to that school: 17.6.1 The principal shall place on file in the Human Resources Office the proposed organization plan of the school. 17.6.2 Announcement of all known positions with the required qualifications for each position to be filled shall be posted in each school site. 17.6.3 Priority shall be given existing unit members within the District who request placement in the new school. 17.6.4 Every unit member within the District who makes application shall be granted an interview by persons involved in the selection process. Grade level/subject matter preferences shall be noted by the bargaining unit member at the time of the interview. It will not be necessary to re-interview for other vacancies at a given site that occur within the same year. 17.6.5 Unit members shall receive written notification of disposition of their transfer request within twenty (20) days after the interview.

School Opening. Whenever a new school is opened, the District will first seek voluntary transfers. If qualified volunteers cannot be obtained from the list in sufficient numbers, then the District may initiate transfers or hire new employees.

Members of this bargaining unit that meet one or more of the higher risk criteria defined by the 26 Governor's Proclamation 20-46 and are expected to work on site for a portion of their job may: 28 a) Request a consideration for an alternative work assignment/remote work through an 29 b) interactive interview with Human Resources; or 30 c) if an alternative work/remote work assignment is not feasible, access their accrued 31 d) leave after; or 32 e) ifchoosing not to pursue an alternative work/ remote work assignment, access their 33 f) accrued leave after or unemployment insurance. 34 g) Employees currently on an alternative work/remote work assignment shall remain on 35 alternative work/remote work assignment until the interactive process with Human

  • School Any public elementary or secondary school including a charter school, universal pre- kindergarten program authorized pursuant to Education Law § 3602-e, an approved provider of preschool special education, any other publicly funded pre-kindergarten program, a school serving children in a special act school district as defined in Education Law § 4001, an approved private school for the education of students with disabilities, a State-supported school subject to the provisions of Article 85 of the Education Law, or a State-operated school subject to the provisions of Articles 87 or 88 of the Education Law.

  • School District For purposes of administering this Agreement, the term "School District" shall mean the School Board or its designated representative.

  • School Day A. The length of the school day shall be seven (7) hours and five (5) minutes inclusive of the arrival and departure time. B. The reporting time for elementary school and K-8 school teachers shall be fifteen (15) minutes prior to the time designated as the official homeroom period. The reporting time for high school and middle school teachers shall be ten (10) minutes prior to the time designated as the official homeroom period. In the event there is no homeroom period during the instructional day or there is no homeroom period, reporting time for elementary school and K-8 school teachers shall be fifteen (15) minutes prior to the beginning of the student instructional day and ten minutes for high school and middle school teachers. Leaving time shall be upon the completion of the teacher’s responsibility but in no event less than ten (10) minutes for elementary school and K-8 school teachers and no less than five (5) minutes for high school and middle school teachers after the conclusion of the instructional day. C. It is further agreed that the teacher will provide extra time either within or outside of the teacher’s school day for the benefit of the needs of his students as shall be determined by the teacher. D. For the purposes of leaves (i.e., sick, personal) a half-day of leave time shall be defined as three (3) hours and thirty-two (32) minutes minimum, from the start of or prior to the end of the work day. E. A joint committee composed of three (3) members appointed by the Board and three (3) members appointed by the Union shall meet within 30 days of the date of the ratification of this Agreement to address the additional salary payable to members of the bargaining unit for work performed beyond the 7 hour and 5 minute duty day and/or beyond the 190 duty day school year at every Charter, Transformation, Innovation, New Schools Initiative, Turnaround School, Restart or any other newly created school that operates with an extended school day and/or extended school year. A specific Memorandum of Understanding for each such school shall be created negotiated no later than August 15, 2013 for the terms of this Agreement of each school year.
