Common use of SCOPE OF ARCHITECT’S SERVICES Clause in Contracts

SCOPE OF ARCHITECT’S SERVICES. §3.1 The Scope of Architect Services consists of the following: 1. Meet with Owner to review and confirm project scope, schedule, and overall goals of the assignment. 2. Complete the full 10-year life safety survey and Ten Year Safety Survey Report for the identified schools listed above per the required State of Illinois process and the provisions of the Health Life Safety Code and regulations. 3. Include the following items (as clarified in Exhibit A) and excluding the noted item: • Location of all fire walls and fire doors indicated on the plans along with identification of any compromised fire walls, fire doors, dampers, unprotected penetrations, etc. • Identification of all exhaust fans on plans along with noting any that are not in working condition. • Identification of any interior or exterior doors and hardware that need to be replaced. • Identification of roofs and confirmation of adequate, safe roof access or if better access needs to be added. • Identification of pool leaks and cracks that need to be repaired. • Identification of room numbers and missing room identification signage, and identification of rooms needing ADA signage. • Determination of “best” and “secondary” tornado shelter locations on plans. • Identification of area of rescue assistance and signage and communication needs therefor. • Determination of need for rescue chairs and whether these are present or need to be added. • Location of defibrillators on plans. • Location of fire detection devices and notification devices and identify systems which are not to current code or that need additional notification devices for ADA. • Identification of building security vestibules and identify buildings without secure vestibules & access portals/check-ins. • Environmental concerns. • Identification of areas with wire glazing still in place and recommendations regarding replacement with safety glass. • Analysis of plumbing fixture quantities versus Illinois Plumbing Code, including ADA compliance. • Identification of predominant domestic water piping materials, by building addition. • Identification of predominant electrical wiring materials, by building addition. • Identification of exterior sealants that need to be replaced. • The following do NOT need to be reviewed: • Inspection of Bleachers (recently completed). 4. Architect shall include the items set forth in Exhibit A and attach a 3-year AHERA study to be provided by Owner. 5. Enter the Ten Year Safety Survey Report in the IWAS HLS processing system using authorization of the Owner’s superintendent of schools; and, submit an application for approval of the Ten Year Survey for each school and certifications as required. 6. Submit the safety reference plans with the description of each building and site conditions to the ▇▇▇▇▇-Winnebago County Regional Office of Education and the Illinois State Board of Education. 7. Prepare complete safety reference plans for each facility that give special attention to all the specific items identified in the Owner’s Request for Proposal document dated April 26, 2018, including clarifications later issued (included in Exhibit A). 8. Provide any necessary follow-up or adjustment to the life safety documents submitted through the IWAS system, if required, after review by the Regional Superintendent of Schools for ▇▇▇▇▇ - Winnebago Counties and the Illinois State Superintendent of Schools. 9. Submit the Architect approved Ten Year Safety Survey Report to the Owner. 10. Respond to questions of Owner and upon request, attend meetings of Owner, including public meetings, to review survey results. §3.1.1 Architect agrees to work with the Project Manager as designated by Owner, if any, who shall act as liaison for the Owner and is empowered to act on behalf of the Owner except in such circumstances as may require vote by the Owner’s Board of Education. §3.1.2 No architectural design or construction services are included in this Scope of Architect’s Services. §3.1.3 The Architect shall, at appropriate times, contact the governmental authorities required to approve the Ten Year Safety Survey Report. The Architect shall assure the Ten Year Safety Survey and Report adhere to the requirements of the State of Illinois and regulations of the Illinois State Board of Education. The Architect represents that it is knowledgeable in and aware of all statutes, rules, regulations and requirements relating to preparation, conducting and completing Life Safety Surveys for Illinois public school districts and preparing required documentation of required surveys. §3.1.4 The Architect shall assist the Owner in connection with the Owner’s responsibility for filing documents required for the approval of governmental authorities having jurisdiction over the Project. Architect shall submit the Ten Year Life Safety Survey and Survey Report through the IWAS HLS system and to Owner and the Regional Office of Education.
