Section 7.6.5. 30 In the event of an unusual or emergency school/site closure due to inclement weather or other 31 circumstances such as electrical problems or the like, and where it is not anticipated that the day 32 will be made up, KAEOP employees will have the following options: use any available 33 discretionary leave, use any available compensatory time, take leave without pay, or work at an 34 alternative site as directed by the District.
Section 7.6.5. 29 All extra school sponsored, supervised trips, or activity runs out of the District in school buses, 30 shall be coordinated through the transportation department and the superintendent’s office, and 31 provided further that all such trips shall be posted and bid out according to the contract on a 32 rotation basis. Exception: in the event nine (9) students or less are transported in a District 33 vehicle, other than bargaining unit drivers may be used; provided, however, that such 34 transportation shall be limited to one (1) vehicle per team. Exceptions would be made for all 35 ASB/self-funded clubs such as FCCLA, Life Skills, and Cheer. Sports teams such as 36 basketball, wrestling, baseball, track, and soccer may use two (2) vans when traveling to state 37 tournaments or a distance of 150 miles or more one way. If for any reason the transportation 38 supervisor deems this unfeasible, the supervisor shall notify the Union representative to work 39 toward a mutually acceptable resolution.
Section 7.6.5. 44 Any driver taking an overnight trip or a day trip of four (4) hours or more, which is not a 45 regular scheduled daily run, shall have meal intervals and be reimbursed at the current per diem 46 meal allowance rate. Day trips of 4-5 hours are eligible for one (1) meal; 5-8 hour trips are 47 eligible for two (2) meals; and trips over 8 hours are eligible for three (3) meals. Upon request, 1 the driver may receive the meal allowance for overnight trips or day trips over eight (8) hours 2 prior to the scheduled trip. Such request must be made at the time the trip is assigned.
Section 7.6.5. 2 Drivers on an overnight trip shall be compensated as follows: 4 A. Trip over one night: all assigned driving time. 5 B. Layover day on a trip over two or more consecutive nights: eight (8) hours of pay or driving 6 time whichever is greater for the layover day(s).

  • Section 6.2 13 The Association representatives may represent the Association and employees in meeting with officials 14 of the District to discuss appropriate matters of mutual interest. They may receive and investigate to 15 conclusion complaints or grievances of employees on District time and thereafter advise employees of 16 rights and procedures outlined in this Agreement and applicable regulations or directives for resolving 17 the grievances or complaints. They may not, however, continue to advise the employee on courses of 18 action after the employee has indicated a desire not to pursue a grievance. This does not, however, 19 preclude the Association's right to pursue the matter to conclusion. They may consult with the District 20 on complaints without a grievance being made by an individual employee.
