Self-Insurance Program Clause Samples

A Self-Insurance Program clause allows a party to fulfill insurance requirements by maintaining its own internal fund or program to cover potential losses, rather than purchasing traditional insurance from a third-party provider. In practice, this means the party assumes direct financial responsibility for certain risks, often setting aside reserves or using a formalized risk management process to address claims that would otherwise be covered by commercial insurance. This clause is particularly useful for large organizations with the resources to manage their own risks, and it provides flexibility while potentially reducing insurance costs.
