Seniority Dates Sample Clauses

The Seniority Dates clause establishes the official date from which an employee’s length of service is calculated for purposes such as promotions, layoffs, or benefits eligibility. Typically, this clause specifies whether the seniority date is based on the employee’s original hire date, the date of transfer to a new position, or after a break in service. By clearly defining how and when seniority accrues, the clause ensures fair and consistent treatment of employees in situations where seniority is a determining factor, thereby reducing disputes and confusion.
