Seniority Procedures. A. Seniority in the classification being reduced is the basis upon which a classified employee shall be laid off. B. Seniority shall be maintained during absences due to illnesses, layoffs, or leave of absence as long as such seniority is not terminated in accordance with other provisions of this agreement. C. Seniority shall be broken for any of the following reasons: 1. An employee resigns or quits. An employee is discharged for just cause. 2.
