Common use of Service Allowance Clause in Contracts

Service Allowance. (i) All full-time employees employed at the date of this agreement being filed and who are in receipt of the service allowance as at the date of filing shall continue to receive the service allowance in addition to the rates prescribed in Table 1, Rates of Pay of Part B, a long service bonus of the amount set out in the following scale: 10 years' and under 15 years' service- 5% 15 years' and under 20 years' service- 7½% 20 years of service and over- 10%. (ii) Payments due under this clause shall be made on the usual pay day when other payments under the Agreement are made. (iii) Continuous service in the same facility prior to the commencement of this Agreement shall be taken into account for the purposes of this clause. (iv) For the purpose of this clause continuous service shall not be deemed to have been broken by absence from the facility whilst a member of the defence forces of the Commonwealth in time of war or for periods of unpaid leave granted to the employee by the employer.
