Service Recognition Days. The Parties agree that for the life of the collective agreement, section 14.4 will be applied as follows: Provided there is evidence of good planning and appropriate substitute teaching coverage in place, principals shall approve the taking of Service Recognition Days to a maximum of five (5) consecutive earned days. All five days may be used immediately prior to or following a major school break including Christmas break, February break or Easter break. Should operational feasibility become a challenge as a result of substitute teacher shortages related to this implementation, the parties agree to form a sub committee consisting of two members of the LINC team and two Board representatives to develop and implement recommendations which support the provision of use of up to five (5) consecutive days while mitigating substitute teacher shortage risks.
