Shared Time Positions. 1. Employees may request to share a position, by providing a written plan to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources. Requests may be made at any time during the year, and will remain in effect for the remainder of the contract year. 2. Each person in a shared assignment must work a minimum of fifteen (15) hours. A total of one (1) full share of the health insurance benefit will be available. One employee may waive, in writing, her/his right to a pro rata share and the share will be added to the other shared employee. The decision to waive their share will be binding for the remainder of the work year. Each employee will receive a full share of the remaining benefits. All other contractually specified benefits will be shared proportionally, to not incur additional costs to the school district. 3. Requests to renew a shared time position must be made to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources not later than May 1st. 4. Return from a shared assignment, shall follow the process for return from leave. 5. The decision to approve, continue or discontinue a shared assignment rests solely with the Board.
Shared Time Positions. Shared time positions may be granted for teachers if the following conditions are met: 1. Two (2) tenured teachers must jointly request to job share a position. 2. The building principal(s) must agree with the assignments and inform the applicant by April 1st. 3. Job sharing must be compatible with the schedule of the educational environment. 4. Both teachers agree to attend all staff meetings, workshop days and participate in parent- teacher conferences. There will be no additional compensation given for these activities. 5. If one (1) teacher leaves during the course of the school year because of illness or other emergency, the remaining teacher will automatically become a full-time teacher in that assignment until a suitable substitute may be retained. Shared time positions will be modified with the following stipulations: 1. A teacher must be granted a part-time leave of absence for a shared time position. The leave must be annually requested by March 15th. Throughout a teacher’s career in the district, the maximum number of years that a job share leave may be granted is three (3). This stipulation can be extended at the Superintendent’s discretion due to position availability. 2. Shared time positions may extend for more than three (3) years if both teachers work under part-time continuing contracts and have relinquished rights of reinstatement to a full-time position. 3. Step movement will be every other year for each teacher in a job share position.
Shared Time Positions. 1. Full time Department Group 2 employees may request to share a position, by providing a written plan to the department supervisor. Requests may be made at any time during the year, will become effective as approved by the supervisor, and will remain in effect for the remainder of the contract year. 2. Each person in a shared assignment must work a minimum of 15 hours. Insurance benefits shall be provided in accordance with Article VI.E.
Shared Time Positions. 6.1 Shared-time refers to a plan whereby two teachers, currently employed and not on layoff, share one full-time teaching position. 6.2 Teachers who wish to be considered will submit a proposal to the Building Principal for consideration. The proposal should be comprehensive and include the following: A. Names of the teachers involved. B. The classes or assignments to be shared. C. How the teaching duties are to be divided. D. Joint planning time, if necessary. E. A plan for discharging other teaching duties, such as: report cards, parent conferences, record keeping, and other required duties. F. The duration of the plan. 6.3 The Superintendent of Schools or designee will have final approval on all shared-time proposals and this decision shall not be the basis of a grievance. 6.4 Each teacher will be responsible for content presented at staff meetings, and for preparing for parent teacher conferences and open houses. Only the teacher working on the day of the events listed above must be in attendance. 6.5 The teachers involved will be paid their salary, sick days, personal business days and fringe benefits on a pro-rata basis. 6.6 All plans are for a one year maximum.

  • Positions outside the Bargaining Unit (a) An employee may substitute temporarily in a position outside the bargaining unit for up to fifteen (15) months from the date of the assignment. Bargaining unit employees shall be given the first opportunity to fill the resulting vacancy. The employee shall have the right to return to her or his bargaining unit position prior to the expiry of the fifteen (15) month period by giving the Employer six (6) weeks’ notice. Where an employee is backfilling outside of the bargaining unit for purposes of pregnancy and/or parental leave, the period of time will be extended up to nineteen (19) months from the date of the assignment. An employee who remains outside of the bargaining unit beyond the period covered by this article shall lose all seniority. When the employee returns to the bargaining unit, all other employee(s) shall revert to their previous positions. An employee must remain in the bargaining unit for a period of at least three (3) months before transferring out of the bargaining unit again or she or he will lose all seniority held at the time of the subsequent transfer unless the parties agree otherwise. (b) An employee who accepts a transfer under (a) above will not be required to pay Union dues for any complete calendar month during which no bargaining unit work is performed. (c) An employee who accepts a permanent position outside of the bargaining unit will lose all seniority held at the time of the transfer. (d) The Employer will advise the Union of the names of any employees pursuant to Article 9.17(a) or (b).

  • Service Exclusions The Contractor shall not be responsible for any repairs necessitated by abuse, neglect, vandalism, Acts of God, fire or water. These repairs shall be the subject of a separate purchase order and shall not be performed under this contract.

  • Part-Time Teachers A "part-time teacher" is one who is employed under written contract but who is assigned to duties on a regular basis that requires less than a full-time equivalent. A part-time teacher shall be paid a salary in accordance with the basic salary schedule, proportionate to the percentage of the full-time equivalent taught each day as outlined in the written contract.

  • Complete Work without Extra Cost Except to the extent otherwise specifically stated in this contract, the Contractor shall obtain and provide, without additional cost to the City, all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, facilities, services, permits, and licenses necessary to perform the Work.
