Common use of SHIFT AND WEEKEND WORK Clause in Contracts

SHIFT AND WEEKEND WORK. 18.1 Employees shall be paid the following percentages in addition to their ordinary pay, and where applicable, the 20% casual loading, for shifts rostered as follows: (a) 10% for afternoon shift commencing after 10:30 a.m. and before 1:00 p.m. (b) 12.5% for afternoon shift commencing at or after 1:00 p.m. and before 4:00 p.m. (c) 15% for night shift commencing at or after 4:00 p.m. and before 4:00 a.m. (d) 10% for night shift commencing at or after 4:00 a.m. and before 6:00 a.m. (e) Laundry staff working afternoon or night shift continuously from 30 September, 1993 shall be paid 20% in addition to the ordinary pay for such shift. 18.2 (a) Notwithstanding sub-clause 18.1, employees working less than the hours prescribed for a full-time employee within Clause 14 - Hours shall only be entitled to the additional rates where their shifts commence prior to 6:00a.m. or finish subsequent to 7:00 p.m.
