Common use of Shift Staffing Clause in Contracts

Shift Staffing. (a) If the company requires employees to work on the afternoon or night shift it will first recruit volunteers and if there is not enough volunteers then employees with the least seniority will be moved to the appropriate shift provided that they have the necessary skills and abilities to do the work required. (b) If the company receives more volunteers than required the employees with the most seniority will be selected subject to the remaining employees on the other shift having the necessary skills and abilities to do the work required. (c) It is understood that the above applies on the basis of movement from and to similar job functions.
