Common use of Ship’s name and registration Clause in Contracts

Ship’s name and registration. The Owner shall keep the Ship registered in its name as a Greek ship at the port of Piraeus and shall not do or allow to be done anything as a result of which such registration might be cancelled or imperilled; and shall not change the port of registry of the Ship without the Lender’s consent (to be given on such terms and conditions as the Lender may determine). The Ship’s name may be changed by the Owner but only after prior written notification to the Lender of the proposed name has been given with an undertaking to provide an updated transcript of register (or equivalent document) forthwith upon such change of name being effected.
