Sick Leave Credits and Accumulation. Sick leave shall be earned by each full-time employee at the rate of one (1) day for each full calendar month of continuous service commencing with the most recent date of employment. Sick leave may be taken only for the purposes specified in paragraph 9.2. Part-time employees shall earn sick leave on a prorated basis according to the hours normally worked by the employee. Employees shall not, as a result of this agreement, lose any sick leave previously accrued. Sick leave shall not accrue during any period of leave of absence without pay.
Sick Leave Credits and Accumulation. All permanent employees shall be eligible for and to accumulate sick leave credits for each full calendar month of service at a rate of twelve (12) hours per month. Partial month of service shall be credited on a pro-rated basis. The credits shall begin with the first full calendar month of service following the date of permanency. For the purpose of computing sick leave accumulation, the following shall be counted as working days: (i) Days which the employee is on vacation. (ii) Days on which the employee is on paid sick leave or is receiving temporary workerscompensation benefits. (iii) Days on which the employee is absent from work while attending official union business. (iv) Days on which the employee is on bereavement leave. (v) Days on which an employee is on an Employer- paid leave of absence.

  • Sick Leave Credits (a) Prior to the commencement of maternity leave, illness arising due to pregnancy may be covered by normal sick leave. (b) Sick leave may be used by any pregnant employee, authorized by the receipt of a qualified medical practitioner's statement to the Employer, where there is a confirmed case of German measles or any other disease or condition in the place of employment which could be harmful to pregnancy as determined by the qualified medical practitioner's statement or report. They may use this leave until all danger from such disease or condition no longer exists.

  • Sick Leave Accumulation (a) An employee is eligible to accumulate sick leave with full pay at the rate of 16 working hours for each 173 1/3 hours of service. (b) The maximum number of days of sick leave which may be awarded to an employee during any consecutive twenty (20) year period of service shall not exceed 3840 hours.

  • Vacation Leave Credits Full-time and part-time employees will be credited with vacation leave accrued monthly, according to the rate schedule and vacation leave accrual below.
