Common use of Span of Ordinary Hours Clause in Contracts

Span of Ordinary Hours. (a) The ordinary span of work hours for an Employee is between: (i) 0700 (7.00am) to 2100 (9.00pm) hours Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays; and (ii) 0900 (9.00am) to 1300 (1.00pm) hours Saturdays, excluding public holidays. (b) Employees will be entitled to penalty rates in accordance with clause 23 of this Agreement if they work outside the ordinary span of work hours.

Span of Ordinary Hours. 36.1 The span of hours during which ordinary hours may be worked are: 5.00 a.m. – midnight, Monday to Saturday inclusive. 6:00 a.m. – midnight, Sunday. 36.2 Ordinary hours worked within the span of hours specified at clause 36.1 are paid at the rate specified in: (a) The ordinary span of Section 19 for work hours for an Employee is between: (i) 0700 (7.00am) to 2100 (9.00pm) hours Monday to Friday, excluding public holidaysbetween 10:00 a.m. and midnight on Saturday; and (ii) 0900 (9.00am) to 1300 (1.00pm) hours Saturdays, excluding public holidays. (b) Employees will be entitled to penalty rates in accordance with clause 23 of this Agreement if they Section 18 for work outside the ordinary span of work hourson Sundays.
