Common use of SPECIAL REQUEST Clause in Contracts

SPECIAL REQUEST. A teacher granted a leave without pay shall not suffer a loss of retirement gratuity, seniority or sick leave credits accumulated to the time of commencement of leave and may retain, subject to carrier provisions, the employee benefits provided in paragraph 8.01 by assuming 100% of their costs. Further, a teacher granted a leave without pay shall be paid a special payment of $25.00 once, if needed, for Teachers’ Pension Plan Board purposes.
