The Split Vacation clause allows an employee to divide their allotted vacation time into separate, non-consecutive periods rather than taking it all at once. For example, an employee with four weeks of vacation could choose to take two weeks in the summer and two weeks in the winter, subject to employer approval and scheduling needs. This clause provides flexibility for employees to better accommodate personal plans or family obligations, while also helping employers manage staffing and workflow more effectively.
SPLIT VACATION. ▇. ▇▇ Employee may request a “Split” Vacation subject to the approval of the Chief of Fire and Township Administrator. An Employee can request no more than ninety-six (96) consecutive work hours of Vacation during the months of June, July and August. An Employee can request and take any combination of consecutive working days of Vacation during the months of January, February, March, April, May, September, October, November or December.
B. An Employee may request a “Split” Vacation for months other than June, July and August, subject to the approval of the Chief of Fire and Township Administrator without recourse to the Grievance Procedure over such denial.
SPLIT VACATION. Employees may split any/all of their vacation entitlement. Employees who elect to split their vacation will indicate their intent to split, together with the number of blocks and length and seniority preference for each block, at the time they select their dates.
SPLIT VACATION a) An employee shall have the right to decide whether his/her vacation entitlement shall be taken in one (1) period or split. An employee who chooses to split his/her vacation must schedule his/her entitlement into segments of no less than one (1) calendar week, unless otherwise mutually agreed between the Employer and the employee.
b) Subject to the operational requirements of the Employer, the employees shall have preference within their classification with respect to the scheduling of their annual vacations according to the seniority list, provided the employee files his/her vacation request with the Employer before March 31st of the year in which the vacation is to be taken.
SPLIT VACATION. Vacation time may be taken on a split vacation basis. Vacation shall not be limited to a particular time or season.

Upon reaching the top of the sign-up list, the employee shall cause his/her name to be signed up for consecutive vacation periods utilizing that portion of his/her vacation intended to be taken. The employee's name shall then go to the bottom of the sign-up list. When the employee's name again reaches the top of the list, the employee shall cause his/her name to be signed up for consecutive vacation periods utilizing the remainder of his/her vacation time.
SPLIT VACATION. Subject to 11.1 above, an Employee may elect to split a vacation period. No Employee shall be compelled to take split vacation.

In an emergency, this twenty-four (24) hour notice may be waived.
C. An Employee can request to take any combination of consecutive working days of Vacation Leave during the months of January through December. An Employee can be limited to ten
